President of the Centre for Responsible and Sustainable Tourism Development – CenORT since 2002 and since 2021 president of the International Institute for Peace through Tourism – Serbia Chapter.
From 2004 to 2021 he was a full professor at Singidunum University, Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management. He taught at undergraduate, master and doctoral studies. He was a professor (1984-2008), as well as a director (1992-1995) of College of Tourism, Belgrade.
He was the first general director of the National Tourism Organisation of Serbia (1994-2001).
His field of research includes tourism destination management, sustainable tourism development management, tourism marketing and special interest tourism. He published a large number of books and textbooks, as well as papers in magazines and presented papers at national and international conferences.
He was the author, leader and supervisor of domestic and international projects primarily related to management and sustainable tourism destination development, especially for projects that focus on local and regional tourist destinations and specific tourism products.
He is a member of AIEST (International Association of Scientific Experts in Tourism).

Predsednik Centra za odgovoran i održivi razvoj turizma – CenORT od 2002. godine a od 2021. Godine i predsednik Instituta za mir kroz turizam – IIPT Serbia Chapter.
Od 2004. do 2021. godine bio je redovni profesor na Univerzitetu Singidunum, Fakultet za turistički menadžment. Predavao je na osnovnim, master i doktorskim studijama. Bio je profesor (1984-2008), kao i direktor (1992-1995) Visoke turističke škole u Beogradu.
Bio je prvi generalni direktor Turističke organizacije Srbije (1994-2001).
Njegovo polje istraživanja obuhvata upravljanje turističkim destinacijama, upravljanje održivim razvojem turizma, marketing u turizmu turizam posebnih interesovanja. Objavio je veliki broj knjiga i udžbenika, kao i radova u časopisima i prezentovao radove na domaćim i međunarodnim konferencijama. Bio je autor, rukovodilac i supervizor domaćih i međunarodnih projekata prvenstveno vezanih za menadžment i održivi razvoj turističkih destinacija. posebno za projekte koji se fokusiraju na lokalne i regionalne turističke destinacije i specifične turističke proizvode.
